Arrival Night
However you're arriving, the Bridge Route begins the same way: a night at Salinero Kilimanjaro Hotel near Moshi, with Kilimanjaro itself sometimes visible from the property, weather permitting.
Continuing from the Northern Circuit: an early flight from the Kogatende airstrip back to Arusha, met by our team for lunch and shopping at the Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre, then an afternoon visit to Unity School before the transfer to Salinero — no additional cost, this night is already included as part of your Northern Circuit.
Flying in fresh for the Southern Circuit: land at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer directly to Salinero — with the option to arrive a day or two early for rest before the Bridge Route begins. Since this group isn't already booked on the Northern Circuit, the JRO transfer and this first night at Salinero (dinner and breakfast included, per person sharing) add USD $130 per person to the package price above.

Mkomazi National Park
September 1–2 · Babu's Camp
After breakfast at Salinero, the journey turns east toward Mkomazi — one of Tanzania's newest national parks, and sometimes called the last frontier of the north. It shares its northern border with Kenya's Tsavo National Park, forming East Africa's first transfrontier park, and is home to endangered black rhino and African wild dog, 78 recorded mammal species, and some 450 species of birds. Two nights leave time for a full day of exploring, including a visit to the park's rhino sanctuary — and here, guests can finally step out of the vehicle for a proper walk.

Rhino Sanctuary & Full-Day Exploring
A full day of guided game drives across Mkomazi's open bushland, including a visit to the park's rhino conservation project — a rare, high-probability chance to see black rhino up close.

Saadani National Park
September 3 · Saadani Safari Lodge
From Mkomazi, the road turns toward the coast and into genuinely unusual territory: Saadani is the only national park in Tanzania where savannah meets the Indian Ocean, and one of the very few places in East Africa where lion and elephant share ground with nesting sea turtles. It's a rare mix of terrain in a single stop — coastal plains, woodland, open bush, and beach — and one of the quietest parks in the country, since Saadani sees a fraction of the traffic of the northern circuit.

Coast & Bush, Side by Side
Transfer by road from Mkomazi to Saadani Safari Lodge. From there, the choice is yours: a morning game drive through the coastal plains and woodland for elephant, giraffe, crocodile, and hippo; a sunrise walk on the beach to watch the fisherfolk cast their nets; an afternoon in search of lion and Lichtenstein's hartebeest; or a swim in the Indian Ocean. Some guests manage more than one in a single day.

Journey's End — Southern Circuit Begins
A final transfer by road from Saadani to the Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel closes out the Bridge Route. For most guests, this isn't a goodbye — it's exactly where the Southern Circuit's own Arrival Day picks up, at the very same hotel.
