LIECHTENSTEIN TO NEUSCHWANSTEIN

We traveled from Switzerland to Austria today, also going through the tiny country of Liechtenstein. This journey, primarily through the Bavarian Alps, was exceptionally gorgeous. We visited Neuschwanstein Castle, the pride of King Ludwig II, and the castle Walt Disney used as the model for the Disney Cinderella castle. Also on the same property is the castle of King Ludwig I, but time didn’t allow a closer look at that one.

Neuschwanstein Castle, built by King Ludwig II. He became king at 18 years old and died under very suspicious circumstances at the age of 40. Thought by many to be insane, he was being officially evaluated by a psychiatrist at the time of his death.
