One of the “must see” attractions to Cape Town, South Africa is a trip to the top of Table Mountain which rises 3563 feet above the city below. Our visit was canceled because of gale-force winds that would affect the cable cars transporting us to the top. Instead, we drove to Lagoon Beach to get some pictures of the city skyline. Our guide suggested that if we dipped our toes in the South Atlantic Ocean, we would find it to be a frigid experience.
Despite this warning, we encountered this dear soul being baptized in the ocean. With its Dutch-Reformed roots, our guide said that South Africa is considered to be about 80% Conservative Protestant Christian.
