Thanks to some Delta Skymiles, we find ourselves in Montana, with a base of operations in Bozeman. This turned out to be the easiest of hops from Knoxville with a 6:45 departure, then one hour and 50 minutes to Minneapolis with just 50 steps to the next gate. We barely had enough time for coffee before the next flight and arrival in Bozeman at around 10 AM. – We stocked up on groceries, prepared a picnic supper and then headed out for an afternoon of scouting photo opportunities. With the long days, it didn’t seem too crazy to continue on a 180-mile loop down past Big Sky to West Yellowstone, through the park then back through Gardiner along the Yellowstone valley. Our heads hit the pillow 22 hours after wake-up, but getting this shot of Mr. Grizzly was a major payoff.
