Our winter trip to London included a day trip to Windsor Castle. We took the District Line from our hotel near the High Street Kensington Underground Station to the Paddington Train Station. From Paddington, we caught the train to Windsor, with an easy change at Slough Station. Windsor was still decorated for the Christmas holidays and the town was fairly crowded with tourists. The skies were gray of course, but with temperatures in the upper 40’s, and no rain, we figured that we caught a break on the weather. For more luck, we arrived just in time to see the parade of castle guards accompanied by a marching band as they made their way from Victoria Barracks up Castle Hill.
