Our introduction to Rocky Mountain National Park was one of a snowstorm. When we got here on Friday, the gates to the park were open, so we figured it was safe enough to head up the mountain. However, the ranger we spoke with the next day seemed a bit surprised that we were driving around in the storm. Saturday much clearer, but we had howling winds and yesterday was a bit better, but it was still very cold. Today, however, was glorious. The winds were calm and the temperatures were actually warmer in the high 40s at high elevations than here in Estes Park.
This shot is of Marcy standing on frozen Bear Lake enjoying the view. The place was packed with visitors having winter fun. Despite the snow, it was plenty warm enough for a picnic a bit later.
