Safari Travel in Tanzania
Our Partnership with Instinct Tours Tanzania Safaris
Our connection with Instinct Tours Tanzania Safaris is deeply personal. Over the years, our travels in Tanzania have grown into a trusted friendship with guide and founder Arnold Makinda — someone whose knowledge of wildlife, landscapes, and the rhythm of safari life has shaped many of our most meaningful experiences.
This partnership reflects what we value most: authentic travel, expert local guiding, respect for nature, and the joy of helping others discover Tanzania in a meaningful way. On this site, we are pleased to share a few of the safari experiences we know and love best.
Explore Tanzania by Season
Tanzania changes beautifully across the year. From the lush green landscapes of calving season to the cool dry months of classic game viewing and the drama of the Great Migration, each safari offers its own rhythm, light, and unforgettable wildlife experiences.
Green Season
Experience Tanzania in one of its most beautiful and rewarding seasons. February brings green landscapes, dramatic skies, abundant birdlife, and the calving season in the southern Serengeti — when thousands of wildebeest give birth and predators are never far away.
Cool Season
The cool dry season offers crisp mornings, comfortable travel, and outstanding wildlife viewing across northern Tanzania. It is a wonderful time to enjoy classic safari landscapes, excellent game concentrations, and the varied beauty of Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and the Serengeti.
Great Migration
Follow one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife spectacles as massive herds of wildebeest and zebra move through the Serengeti ecosystem. Combined with superb resident wildlife, sweeping plains, and unforgettable safari moments, this is Tanzania at its most dramatic.

The Train to Zermatt
Perhaps our Teutonic surname granted some pull with our host, but the Alpenblick Hotel gave us one of their few rooms with a nice Matterhorn

Day five of our river cruise finds us at Passau, Germany where the Inn and Ilz Rivers join the Danube. Passau has a lovely skyline

Beautiful Danube Blue Hour
The sun has just dropped below the horizon along the Danube, and we enjoy the melancholy blue light of dusk. We’ve had some lovely evenings
